18+ Responsible Gambling
Gambling should always be entertainment — never a source of income or a way out of financial difficulty. On this page you will find the most important Danish tools and organisations that can help you keep gambling fun and safe.
Keep it fun: basic rules
- Only gamble with money you can afford to lose.
- Set deposit limits before you start playing — all Danish-licensed casinos must offer this.
- Never chase losses. Losses are the cost of the entertainment.
- Don't gamble when you are upset, intoxicated or under pressure.
- Take regular breaks and keep track of time and money spent.
- Gambling is not a way to make money — the house always has an edge.
ROFUS — national self-exclusion
ROFUS (Register Over Frivilligt Udelukkede Spillere) is the Danish national register for voluntary exclusion from gambling. You can exclude yourself temporarily (24 hours, 1, 3 or 6 months) or permanently from all licensed online gambling in Denmark. Registration also stops gambling advertising being directed at you.
StopSpillet — free help and advice
StopSpillet is the Danish Gambling Authority's helpline for problem gambling. It is free, confidential and open to players as well as their relatives. Call 70 22 28 25 (weekdays 9:00–21:00) or visit stopspillet.dk.
Spillemyndigheden — the Danish Gambling Authority
Spillemyndigheden licenses and supervises all legal gambling in Denmark. Only play at casinos that appear in the official licence register — every casino reviewed on this site does.
Warning signs of problem gambling
- Gambling with money meant for rent, bills or food.
- Borrowing money or selling possessions to gamble.
- Lying to family or friends about how much you gamble.
- Feeling restless or irritable when trying to cut down.
- Gambling to escape problems or negative feelings.
If you recognise any of these signs in yourself or someone close to you, reach out to StopSpillet. Asking for help is a sign of strength.
Under 18?
Gambling is illegal for anyone under 18 in Denmark. This website is intended for adults only.
